Best UPS for Datacentre
In recent years,
datacenters are evaluated on important metrics of availability, as it is a
concern of all Data center Managers. “Availability at any cost” mindset also
dominates the selection criteria for un-interrupted power supply system.
Advanced technology and raised demands supports data centres, while
availability has no way diminished and is joined by two new metrics i.e.
Fliexibility & Efficiency to keep pace with growing capacity needs while
working under the constraints of tightened budgets.
It is necessary for data
centre managers to understand key factors and consider right UPS to meet
current understanding and optimize the performance of their facilities.
UPS internal
configuration shows the relationship between the UPS output power quality and
incoming utility power and ultimately the effectiveness of UPS protecting
against few types if power disturbances. There have been 3 basic types of UPS
configuration that are used in datacentre – Passive standby, Line interactive
and Online double conversion.
Offline or standby
topology are the simplest UPS. Normally critical loads gets power from AC via
utility. A charger converts AC power to DC to charge the battery. The inverter
is used to convert the DC power from the battery to create AC power to support
the load when the utility fails. Normally the inverter is operating in a
standby mode, with the battery charger maintaining the batteries. Should the
utility power go out of limits, the inverter powers the load, drawing energy
from the battery.
Line interactive topology
resembles standby type and insert transformer/ inductor between utility power
source and load, which enables helps incoming power to connect/ interact with
UPS power and provide power conditioning to load, that help in high/ low
voltage situations.
Without operating
battery, critical load will not be isolated from input line. Line interactive
is low cost but effective, as during power disturbance critical gets support
from it. It might be less efficient but resulting in incremental losses with
its power conditioning.
In many businesses,
mission critical data centres is most common critical operation. Its
criticality and complexity only increased in these recent years where data
centres are experiencing steady growth in density and capacity, straining
resources and increasing the consequences of poor performance. As the data
center continues to evolve and become more complex and heterogeneous, it is
important that organizations now select those power systems that optimize the
“trifecta” of availability, efficiency and scalability.
Focusing on environmental matters and complexity of
critical application now a days more demanding for the systems that are
efficient, flexible, secure, interconnected with power protection solutions. IT/ Data centres represents one of a company's most
fundamental assets: a structure on which the entire organization depends.
That’s why it is important to ensure and choose the best UPS for datacenter which should be
both functional and reliable, starting from current electrical layout of the
system and following precise quality area. Riello UPS uninterrupted power
supplies is a well-designed system, i.e. versatile, compact and can adapt to
all types of loads. Reducing energy consumption has become a necessity for all
businesses as well as an environmental concern. Therefore to choose a UPS
supplier that offers green products designed to provide the best energy
efficiency and lowest environmental impact possible, with maximum performance.
The Eco Energy levels helps identify the most highly efficient Riello UPSproducts. Riello UPS provide Multi Sentry, Master HP, Multi Power and Next
Energy UPS ranges for handling
